38 weeks

I was 38 weeks yesterday. I am so anxious for this baby to be born. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. The anticipation is killing me! At least with Christmas you know when it’s coming, but with babies you never know when they might decide to arrive.  It seems like the last week all I have been thinking about is this coming birth. I can’t wait to snuggle Myles in my arms and kiss his soft baby skin. Until then, I am trying to savor these last moments of pregnancy…feeling him move around inside of me…and enjoying uninterrupted sleep (well, except for those many nightly bathroom trips!).

Please keep us in your prayers as the time approaches quickly for Myles’  birth!

Learning New Things {Finer Things Friday}

Isaac started school last week. He’s doing great and it’s been so much fun to see him learn new things. For his music I am teaching him piano. We only do it twice each week, but he is picking it up very quickly. And yesterday he played his first real song! 🙂 He was pretty proud of himself, and so were we! Learning new things is certainly a Finer Thing!

Labor Day

We had the best kind of Labor Day on Monday…..the kind where you relax instead of labor! 🙂 Aaron and Katie had us over for a cookout along with both sets of parents. The weather was in the 60’s and mostly sunny. It was simply beautiful. We ate, sat in our chairs, and relaxed all afternoon! Adam and the boys spent quite alot of time fishing off the dock, and they enjoyed that. It’s fun to see them old enough to enjoy doing things like that with daddy. And of course I just take pictures! 🙂

Isaac’s First Day of School

Yesterday Isaac started kindergarten. We are homeschooling Isaac….so thankfully there were no tears on this Mama’s part when I had to leave him for his first day. But there was still plenty of excitement! He has been looking forward to school starting for quite some time. And he did very well. I can hardly believe I have a child old enough for school!

The Island {Finer Things Friday}

We have an “island” here in Wausau. At least that’s what we call it. It’s right downtown, a small spot of land in the river accessible by a bridge. Years ago it was used in logging, back when they floated the logs down the river. Now there is a nice walking path and plenty of  bugs, sticks, and plants to interest little boys. The boys have been asking all summer to go….and we just haven’t gotten around to it. But this week we finally did. We walked the path, and then we fished off the bridge. It was a fun family outing. And it was a Finer Thing.

32 Weeks

These last few weeks I haven’t been keeping up on this blog very well. But then again, I have also been catching myself putting the milk in the pantry and the laundry in the garbage. I just blame it on pregnancy brain. 🙂

I am now 32 weeks along. We are all getting pretty excited to meet our new little guy. I have been working on the baby’s room, and just have a few more things to do before it is finished. The little guy has very few new things, as everything from bedding to clothing has been handed down from Isaac, to Hudson to him. So I am trying to add a few new little decorating touches to make it just for him. Isaac and Hudson ask me almost daily “how many more weeks until the baby is born?”.  When I tell them, Hudson’s standard reply is, “I want it to be two weeks!” as he holds up two little fingers to make his point. Isaac is excited to hold him and help take care of him. Hudson is always telling me different things he is going to teach the new baby. Their excitement is precious and I pray that they will love and adore their little brother.

Adam and I are getting pretty excited to have a baby in the house again. Isaac will turn six right around the time Myles is born, and Hudson will turn four three months later. So it’s going to be quite an adjustment to have a baby in the house again. And we are so ready for it! 🙂 Even if it means less sleep, more work, less freedom, and far crazier days. We just can’t wait to hold this little guy in our arms!

I’m still feeling good. Experiencing the normal aches and pains associated with pregnancy, but nothing terrible. I do find myself quite exhausted nearly every evening. I don’t remember being quite this worn out with my other pregnancies, but then again I didn’t have two other boys to keep me busy either! 🙂 But I do enjoy being pregnant, and experiencing this awesome miracle of carrying another little life inside of me. Myles is quite an active little guy, and I love feeling every movement  – even if it’s keeping me awake just a bit longer at night! 🙂

Less than eight weeks now until my due date. My “to do before baby comes” list is slowly growing shorter, and our excitement and anticipation  is quickly growing greater. We can’t wait to meet our little Myles Haddon!

Here we are at 32 weeks. As you can see we are growing! 🙂

Pancake Brunch

Tomorrow morning our church is putting on a free, all you can eat pancake brunch from 10:00 till noon at the YWCA in Wausau. We have invited people, we have advertised, we have passed our many, many fliers. We have no idea how many to expect, but we are praying for a good turnout. We simply want to show  Christ’s love to our community and let them know who Harvest Baptist Church is, where we are, and that we care. This is quite a big undertaking for the small group that we are! So if you live in the area, please, come out and join us for a nice hot stack of pancakes! And then we also ask that you would pray with us as we seek to minister to those in our community.

Making Room for Baby

This week Hudson moved from his toddler bed in his own room to a twin trundle bed in Isaac’s room. Both boys have been anticipating this with excitement for quite some time. We wanted to make the transition early enough that they are all settled in and used to their new arrangment before the new baby comes and takes over Hudson’s old room. And last night was the night. And boy were they excited! 🙂 It made me sad as I was taking off Hudson’s bedding from his toddler bed. Moving in with his big brother was just one more step in growing up. He’s not the baby anymore. But then I also realized that soon we we be turning his bed back into a crib and filling it with a new little baby boy. And that made me excited. So though this transition had mixed emotions for me, my boys were are smiles.

Splish Splash

Hot summer days were made for little boys and water. The smiles, laughter, and wet little bodies are what make days like this extra sweet.
