How exciting to see God at work!

Our little church has been seeing God’s working in a big way. In just these past two weeks we have seen new visitors every Sunday, yesterday we had three visitors, and the Sunday before we had eleven visitors! Each day it seems the Lord gives some neat encouragment to show us that He is blessing us.

This afternoon we were at the store picking up a few things, and a man walked by us and recognized Adam, so they began talking. This man also has ministered at the same jail that our church ministers at, and Adam and he have talked when they have been waiting to meet with the inmates. As they talked he told Adam that they had just left their church this week due to some biblical issues, and were now looking for a church. He asked our service times and said that he and his wife would be coming to visit. How wonderful that the Lord put us there at that very moment!

Then shortly after we got home we received a phone call from a church member telling us of serveral other visitors planning to attend our Wednesday Bible Study.

How exciting it is when God blesses the faithfulness of His church!

What does your pizza lady call you?

It seems like this week has flown by. Like I blinked and here we are about ready to start a new week already.

Today we had a church activity at our house. Everyone brought the fixings for taco’s and we had a very yummy lunch. Then everyone stayed around for a while playing games and fellowshipping. It was really a very nice, relaxed time together.

After everyone had left, Adam and I took the boys for a walk! Our first walk of the season. I believe the high here today was 46 degrees. We can actually see grass in many places! Both Isaac and Hudson were so excited to be outside. Hudson was pretty quiet in his stroller, just looking around as we walked. Isaac, as usual, asked a question or made a comment every 1.2 seconds. 🙂 He has quite the inquisitive mind. That reminds me of something funny that happened the other day…

Isaac and I were in Papa Murphy’s to get a pizza. It was a bit busy, so the lady took my name and we had a wait for a few minutes. When our pizza was ready we heard her call “April.” As I picked up the pizza Isaac asked, “Why did she call you April?” I said, “Because that’s my name, you don’t think she’s going to call me mama, do you?” Isaac thought about it for a second and then said, “Why can’t she call you “babe”? I had a good laugh out of that one. That’s what Adam calls me, and apparently Isaac wants the pizza lady to call me that, too! 🙂

This coming week my family is coming up for a visit. So I’m sure I will have some pictures to share in the coming days.

Have a great Lord’s Day tomorrow!

Deals this Week at Walgreens and Target

This is what I got at Walgreens this week: 6 pkgs. Huggies diapers, 2 Glade Sense and Sprays, 1 Glade Impressions Plug-In, 1  Garnier Fructis Styling Mousse, 1 Axe Hair Scrub, and 1 Walgreens Headache relief.

After Register Rewards, Walgreens rebates, and Caregivers Marketplace rebate my total out of pocket is $23.31(including tax). That figures out to be about $3.85 per pack of diapers, with everything else being free. Not too bad, especially for Huggies diapers.

My Walgreens did not have the gentle care huggies wipes, so I went to Target to use my $5  Huggies coupons. At Target I bought 4 pkgs. of 184 count huggies wipes, One 6 pack of Mott’s applesauce, 1 bottle of Sauve men’s body wash.

My total, including tax, was $5.58. We will be stocked up on wipies for a while! 🙂

On Monday my husband turned 30 years old. Wow! I am married to such an old man! 🙂

Sunday night we had a little surprise party for him and another man in our church who’s birthday is the day before Adam’s. We invited the Dack’s over, and then sent our husbands out to get a pizza after church. While they were out getting the pizza, everyone gathered at our house for the surprise. When the two men came in we sang “Happy Birthday” to them. They enjoyed the surprise, and we had a great time of fellowship and celebration.

The birthday boys – Adam and Marc.

Thanks to Craig for Inventing His List!

I know I have mentioned it before, but I just love craigs list! A few months ago our tv went out. My brother got a new tv, so he gave us his old one, which was bigger, and nicer, than ours. The only bad thing, was it was too big for our entertainment center! So for the past month or so we have had the “new” tv sitting on a microwave cart next to the entertainment center. Not exactly a woman’s idea of “neat and orderly.” It drove me crazy. But  Friday we sold our old entertainment center on craig’s list, and then Saturday we bought a new one on craig’s list! The Lord worked out the timing just perfectly. Here is Isaac showing off our new (to us) entertainment center.

If you have never checked out craig’s list, be sure to! It’s great for finding what you need at frugal prices.

My Walgreens Deals this Week

This is what I purchased at Walgreens this week: 4 pkgs. diapers, 4 tubes Colgate toothpaste, 2 Glade Sense and Sprays, 4 Glade Lasting Impressions Plug-Ins, 1 Garnier Fructis Shampoo, 2 bottles Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion, 1 Dawn dish soap, 1 Reach toothbrush, 1 Sambucol Cold and Flu, 1 Wal-Zyr Allergy relief, 5 boxes of sweethearts valentine candy(these were 12 cents each and used as filler items).

After Register Rewards and Rebates, my total is $21.11 (including tax). I made three trips to Wags this week! The deals were just to good to pass up! My total would have been less, but on my third trip (at a different store then I usually go to) the cashier wouldn’t allow me an overage on the Glades. So I actually had to pay a little bit for those. But I had already made money on the previous four, so I didn’t make a fuss about it.

I was pretty pleased with my purchases this week. Especially since $18 of it was for the diapers, of which you can’t ever have enough!

Who knew getting a little culture could be this fun…

Saturday we went to the Woodson Art  museum here in town. They have a really neat childrens section with some fun creative things for kids to do. It’s hard to find fun inexpensive things to go and do with the boys when it’s cold and snowy outside, and this was the perfect thing. The boys really enjoyed it, and the admission is free!
