Our House is Famous!

While searching for something online, I found this interesting article that talks about OUR house! Yes, it really is the house that we live in, pictures and all. We are the 1203 5th Street. How cool is that!

Great for a Cold, Snowy Evening

Last night for dinner I made meatloaf with a new recipe. My family gave it a thumbs up. It was the perfect meal for a cold, snowy evening.

Traditional Meatloaf

1 egg, beaten
2/3 cup milk
3 slices of bread, crumbled
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup finely shredded carrot
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp prepared mustard

In a large bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into loaf. Place in a greased 9x5x3 loaf pan.

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, ketchup and mustard; spread over loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-75 minutes or until no pink remains. Drain. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.

* I served this with baked potatoes, corn and Poppy Seed bread. YUM!

Boys sure are fun!

I am very thankful for every day that the Lord gives me with my two sweet little boys. We have so much fun!

My Walgreens Deals this Week

Here’s what I got this week at Walgreens: 2 pkgs diapers, 2 Glade Sense and Sprays, 2 Revlon Creme Lip glosses, 1 Revlon foundation, 1 pkg Boost Kid Essentials Drink boxes, and 1 Yes To Carrots Lip Balm.

My total, before coupons, was over $70.00. (who in their right mind would actually pay that?!) After coupons my total was $31.44 (including tax). I will be getting $28.60 back in rebates. So my total out of pocket will be $2.84!

If you don’t shop at Walgreens, be sure to check out  “Frugal Living” on my sidebar for some great sites that can help you learn how to get these great deals too!

Plugged In Online

If you want to check out a movie before viewing or buying , Plugged In Online is a good source. I took just a few minutes to look at the site, and they seem to have quite thorough reviews and tell about both good and inappropriate content. You can look up just about any movie and see a review.

Where’s the (our) Money Going?

Take a look here at the breakdown of Obama’s stimulus package.  Looks  like more spending than stimulus to me.

My Valentine

This is  me with my sweet valentine! 🙂 Saturday night Adam and I went over to the Hunt’s house for dinner, and then the four of us went to see local production of the play “Peter Pan.” What a fun evening!

My Walgreens Deals this Week

It was a great week at Walgreens! Hope you grabbed yourself some of these great deals and freebies!

The cleaning wipes were free after coupons and walgreens rebate, plus I will make $2.50 back after a mail-in-manufacturer rebate. The Gillette Fusion razor was a money maker of $1.00 after coupon and register rewards, and the Venus Embrace razor was 99 cents after coupon and register rewards. The dish soap was 50 cents, and the toothpaste 24 cents. The socks were just an extra little filler so I could use my RR , and will be a gift for my sister in the box I am sending her at college. So my out of pocket for all this after rebates will be 25 cents! Gotta love Walgreens! 🙂

An Afternoon of Fun

Yesterday afternoon we went sledding with the Burkam’s, a couple in our church. It was such fun to see the boys enjoyment. After a couple trips down with daddy, Isaac decided he wanted to go down by himself. How grown up he is getting! He looked like such a big kid sledding down all alone. He did really well, too.

Hudson just kept smiling. You could tell, just by looking at his face, that he was really enjoying himself. He was so cute!
