The Christmas season is always fun with little ones around. This is Isaac’s fourth Christmas, and Hudson’s first! Isaac is excited about all the Christmas gifts…both those under the tree for him, and those we are giving to others. He has had a great time helping with decorating, baking and wrapping. I am trying to treasure each moment as I realize how quickly my boys are growing up.

Hope your Christmas season is shaping up to be as blessed and fun as ours!

Aw man…. I forgot to take pics of the kids decorating the tree! Doh! We had our kids as well as Tish and Bubba. I think that’s why I forgot…. it all happened so fast!!! Amara helped me make hershey kiss cookies last weekend. Jon did get some cute pics of that. 🙂 Love Isaac’s green fingers. He’s a good little helper! Amara asked Santa for “A stool so I can see what mommy’s doing” in the kitchen! LOL! The funny thing — about 3 weeks prior to that, I told my dad that the kids would LOVE a handmade little stool so that they could help me in the kitchen.

Sounds like you had a houseful for decorating! Every time I cook or bake Isaac drags a chair over from the table so he can watch and “help” :). A stool sounds like a good idea for us too!

We had a “step step” that the kids used when they were little to help in the kitchen. It looked like a chair and had steps that you could pull out and put away when you didn’t need them. The kids named it the “step step”.

My granddaughter is 14 now and we still get together every year and have a candy/cooky/baking marathon. She always has a list of things we need to make and I have new things to try. This weekend we made two batches of sugar cookies, one batch of chocolate cookies rolled in different things; such as: chopped nuts, coconut, sprinkles, etc.
We made chocolate covered peanuts, haystacks, stained glass windows, pumpkin bread and truffles. Friday she will be back over and we will finish decorating the cookies, make another batch of stain glass windows, fudge and I’ll probable do one or two more batches of pumpkin bread in between. We have a great time. Enjoy the mess and don’t expect perfection and you’ll have a great time!
