It’s Good to have Friends!

This morning Chrissy met us at the Climax park with Lincoln, Spencer, and Knox. Isaac and Hudson were so excited to play with their pals. Knox and Hudson even had matching shirts on! It was just like having a set of triplets and a set of twins! Phew!

We had a picnic lunch, and the three older boys also had a great time playing on the playground and getting as dirty as little boys can get. After lunch we brought them all back to our house for baths, clean clothes, and some more play. What a fun day we had!

Three CHEER(io)S for Hudson!

Tonight Hudson had cheerios for the first time. It was really cute!

The Wait has Ended…and the Adventure Begins!

Well, the wait is over. Last night the Harvest Baptist Church in Wausau, Wisconsin voted unanimously to call Adam as their Pastor. And he has accepted that call! Yes, I know, the original plan was for them to call us to come officially candidate and then go from there. But as they met together last night they decided that they knew Adam was God’s man for them, and with that confidence did not wish to prolong the process – so they simply voted him in as Pastor! How wonderfully the Lord works! I am glad that early on in our search for the church God had for us we decided to leave the planning up to Him. How much greater His plans are than ours!

This morning Adam will be giving his two week notice at work. When those two weeks are up we will spend several days up in Wisconsin looking for housing and also a part time job. The church can only pay us part time right now, and so Adam will need to get another part time job. Please pray that the Lord will supply these two needs. As soon as we find a house to rent, we will be packing up our home here in Michigan and moving!

Through the last serveral months many of you have been a great help and encouragment to us. We want to say “Thank you” for the love you have shown us. We are excited about what the Lord has in store for us at Harvest Baptist Church!

Waiting is not my favorite thing to do…

I do not enjoy waiting. It is certainly not one of my strongest virtues. But here we are, waiting for that phone call Sunday evening from Wisconsin to let us know if they want us to come back to officially candidate. It seems this week has gone by so slowly. But finally, Sunday is nearly here. Tomorrow we should know if we are back at square one, or if God is going to continue to lead in this direction. Uggg, I hate waiting.

But, in all situations in life we must learn the lessons God has for us. Perhaps you are at this same place – waiting on God for His direction. Allow Scripture to be your encouragment, as it had been mine….

“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.”

Isaiah 64:4

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

Psalm 27:14

Trip to Wisconsin

We arrived home late last night. We had a nice trip home and the boys were very good travelers, as they always are. Adam and I both felt that our visit in Wisconsin was just the beginning. We are excited about seeing if the Lord is going to continue to lead us to minister with the Harvest Baptist Church. As it stands right now the pulpit committee will decide whether to recommend Adam to the church on Sunday. If they do recommend him, and the people agree, then we will be called to come officially candidate. Then after we candidate they will vote on calling him as Pastor. Please pray for us as we follow the Lord’s leading in this!

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Wisconsin for your viewing pleasure! 🙂

Enjoying the pool at our hotel.

Family photo at the church.

This is YWCA where the church rents for their services.

Mount Rib makes a beautiful backdrop for the city of Wausau.

More beautiful scenery of the area.

We stopped to see our friends, the Blondo’s, on our way home.

Wisconsin Update

What a wonderful evening we have had with the people of Harvest Baptist Church! Adam’s meeting with the pulpit search committee went well and he was very pleased with how they seemed to be heading the same direction and on the same page as him. After the evening service we enjoyed some more fellowship and found it to be very sweet. The sweet older lady that was “for” Adam this morning brought a picture of her family to show me – she had fifteen children in her family. When I told her I also had fifteen kids in my family I think I made a friend for life!

When we got back to the hotel we took Isaac for a late night swim, which of course he thought was great fun! I will try to post some pictures of our trip soon. Oh, and I just have to mention that at the church Isaac and I were chased by a baby racoon! That was something I haven’t experienced before!

We leave here in the morning to head home, but to let you in on a little secret – I think there’s a good possibility that we may be back…. 🙂

Enjoying Wisconsin

We arrived in Wausau, Wisconsin about 4:00 Saturday. It was about a seven and a half hour drive, including the two stops we made. The area here is very beautiful. Reminds me alot of northern Michigan, up by the Houghton Lake area where we always took the kids to camp. We are staying in a very nice hotel, and of course Isaac was thrilled that they have a pool! So we took the boys swimming last night and we all enjoyed that.

Today we met the church people and Adam preached Sunday School and Sunday AM this morning. We have really enjoyed the people, small group that they are. The church does not own it’s own building, but rents a few rooms in the YWCA here in town. After church we had a dinner fellowship and we had a great time talking to the people and getting to know them better. There is a family here from Australia, and they have the greatest accents!

Adam is now heading off to a meeting with the Pulpit Search Committe, and then will be preaching the evening service also. Then afterwards we have more food and fellowship with the church people! 🙂

We really like the area and have really gotten on well with the people. There is a good range of ages from newly married couples to older couples. No little children, but there are a couple teenagers. There is much potential for growth and we are excited about the possibility that the Lord may have this place for us. There is a sweet older lady here in the church that has already told Adam that she is “for him!” and hopes he comes. 🙂

Please keep us in your prayers, and I will be sure to post updates as I am able!

Heading to Wisconsin

Tomorrow morning we head up to Wisconsin! We are all excited about this trip and seeing what God may have for us at Harvest Baptist Church.

We are busy this evening preparing for our trip. Adam and Isaac vacuumed and washed the van, while Hudson watched them and I prepared dinner inside.

Aren’t Hudson’s two teeth cute?! 🙂

Please keep up in your prayers this weekend. I will be sure to post updates as I am able!

Our Soldier Returns Home!

I just received word that my brother, Andrew, has arrived back in the USA! He has been serving in Iraq since January, and we were not expecting his return until sometime next month. Praise the Lord that he has returned home safe and sound!

Looking Forward to Seeing this Film

You can check out a preview of the soon to be released movie Fireproof  by clicking on the link below. This movie is put out by the makers of Facing the Giants, which was a very good, clean, christian family film.
