Adam has been working ten and twelve hour shifts this week and it has been hard, especially on Isaac, to have him gone so much. Especially after having him home everyday for nearly two months! Plus our car was not running this week, so Adam had to take the van to work. Which left the boys and I home and not able to go anywhere. Which was fine, we have been playing outside alot, baking cookies, and other such things. But we all are very happy to have the weekend here, and thanks to my dad for his help in getting our car going again. All that to say we needed some good family time - out of the house!!!
So we are going to the zoo today. Isaac is so excited, and frankly so am I! Be sure to check back later, as I am sure I will have plenty of great pics to post!
Making Time for Some Family Fun

Hudson Turns Six Months

Hudson turned six months old yesterday! He is such a sweetie and brings much fun to our family. Right now his favortite things are sitting in his bouncer or highchair, being loved on, chewing on his hands, and playing with his toys. He also loves to watch his older brother, is quite interested in all of Isaac’s toys, and laughs harder at Isaac’s funny antics than at anything else. Hudson will return a smile to nearly anyone. We think he’s adorable, what do you think?
A Very Emotional Sprinkler

This morning as we were getting ready to leave for church Isaac asked me, “Mama, I take my spiderman sprinkler to church with me?” I said, “No, Isaac, it has to stay here.” Isaac replied, “Mama, it will cry!”
“May I have some help me?”

We have been teaching Isaac how to ask for things in a polite way. Most often it is when he is asking for more juice, he would just bring us his cup and say “Mama, more juice.” Sometimes he would add please on the end if he remembered. So we have been teaching him to say “May I have some more juice, please?” and he has been doing quite well with it. Often he will still forget and we will say “Isaac, ask the right way, please.”, then he will say “May I have some more juice, please?” We want him to ask for everything in a polite way, not just juice, but he doesn’t always get the right wording. For instance, last night as we were preparing to leave for kindergarten graduation at church, Isaac was having a difficult time putting his own shoes on. I heard him yell out to Adam, “Daddy, help me!” and Adam responded with, “Isaac, how are you supposed to ask?” Isaac promptly replied, “May I have some help me?”
At least he has the right idea. ![]()
Learning to be a Helper

Last night we took Isaac with us to clean the bank. Usually we leave both boys with my mom, but Isaac asked to go with us, so we took him along. He thought he was really getting a special treat! He “helped” me dust and “helped” Adam vacuum and take out trash. If you are a mom you know just what sort of “help” a two year old can be.
Isaac was as proud as could be as he worked along with us. He kept running back to tell me “Mama, I helping my daddy!” or “Mama, I vacuum by myself with my daddy!” (this “my daddy” is his newest thing)
While it might have taken us a little longer to clean with him in tow, it was also quite fun. We try to take every opportunity to teach him. This was just one more experience to help him learn how to be a good worker, to obey, and to be a help to others. I was really wishing I had my camera last night, he was terribly cute working along side us!
Afterwards we stopped and got Frostys at Wendy’s as a special treat for working so well. Of course he gobbled his down in no time at all! ![]()
